Alex (Plumbing ‘83) and Harry Chupik (Plumbing ‘78) could not have imagined that after completing their plumbing apprenticeship 32 years ago that the road would wind back to where it started.

The two brothers established Canyon Plumbing in 1978 and over the years, together with their children Sarah, Mark (Plumbing ‘04) and Jason (Plumbing ‘99) have worked hard to make it one of Canada’s largest residential plumbing contractors with 155 employees including 125 plumbers.

Today they are giving back to SAIT by investing $50,000 in the Promising FuturesTM Campaign to support the Trades and Technology Complex.

The Chupik family credits SAIT with providing the foundation for their business success. “You always have to look at the big picture. SAIT has been good to me, my brother and our children and the new Trades and Technology Complex will benefit future generations. I’ve always felt that plumbing and other trades haven’t had the stature they deserve. I’m quite excited about the new Complex and I feel it will help elevate the standing of the trades as a profession.”
